WELCOME

Wellington (Telford) Swimming Club aims to develop confident, skilled swimmers through high-quality coaching, structured training, and inclusive support—fostering growth, competition, and fun for all.

We are a thriving community club where swimmers of all levels perform, progress, and feel proud—empowered by teamwork, dedication, and a love for the sport.

Our Values
  • Development – We train with purpose and aim high
  • Opportunity – We provide pathways to compete and grow
  • Community – We support each other, in and out of the pool
  • Respect – We act with fairness and integrity
  • Commitment – We show up, work hard, and celebrate effort
  • Fun – We create rewarding and fun experiences

We’re a community-focused swimming club welcoming children from age 7 and up. Our Development Squad—Dolphins, Piranhas, and Sharks—follows Swim England’s Learn to Swim framework (Stages 8–10), building strong technique and water confidence. For experienced swimmers, our Junior and Senior Performance Squads offer structured training and competition pathways to help each swimmer reach their full potential.

We also run successful water polo teams for all ages—from juniors (12 and under) to adults. Players train regularly, learn game skills, and take part in matches. Some go on to represent the region and higher levels.

New and prospective members are always very welcome - click here.

Before joining our swimming squads, we assess each child’s ability to make sure they’re placed at the right level for their skills and confidence. For water polo, we recommend coming along to a session to give it a try—no experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in.

The club is affiliated to Swim England, which is the national body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water and synchronised swimming. It is responsible for establishing the laws for each of these sports, for supporting national teams and organising competitions throughout England. It also supports 1,600 affiliated clubs through a national/regional system. Information on Swim England and links to other useful swimming sites are available at www.swimming.org
