Junior Squad is where swimmers begin their journey into formal competition. Training becomes more structured, with a focus on technique, endurance, and race preparation. Swimmers start attending licensed meets and learning how to perform under pressure while maintaining good habits and positive mindset.
Assessment Criteria
Technical Proficiency
Legal execution of all four strokes over race distances
Efficient starts and turns, including underwater phases
Streamlined finishes with correct technique for each stroke
Consistent stroke mechanics under fatigue
Competition Readiness
Attend licensed meets and demonstrate race etiquette
Understand basic race strategy and pacing
Record and reflect on personal bests
Show resilience and sportsmanship in competitive settings
Training Discipline
Complete structured sets with focus and effort
Understand and apply training terminology (e.g., pace, rest, reps)
Follow lane etiquette, warm-up routines, and coach feedback
Demonstrate commitment to regular attendance and progression

Swimmers who consistently meet Junior Squad criteria may be invited to join our Senior Squad, where training intensity increases and swimmers begin targeting county and regional qualifying times.
